Yeetbox

Yeet it from your phone to your computer.

Send photos, videos and files from your Android phone straight to your Windows PC, over any Wi‑Fi or mobile data.

You need both: the computer app receives files, the phone app sends them.

Works anywhere

Your phone and computer don't need to be on the same Wi‑Fi. Send from the bus, get it at home.

Private

Files are locked on your phone and only unlocked on your computer. Nobody in between can see them, not even us.

No accounts

No sign-up, no passwords. Scan a QR code once and you're connected.

Your files, from your phone

Open anything you've sent from the "My Computer" tab while you're out, as long as your computer is on.

Set up in 3 steps

Takes about two minutes. You only do this once.

1

Install it on your computer

  1. On your Windows computer, click Download for Windows above.
  2. Open the file you downloaded (Yeetbox-Setup.exe).
  3. If a blue box says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows this for new apps it hasn't seen much yet.

Yeetbox opens and shows a QR code. Leave it open for step 3.

2

Install it on your phone

  1. On your Android phone, open this page and tap Get the Android app.
  2. When it's downloaded, tap Open (or find Yeetbox.apk in your Downloads).
  3. If your phone says it can't install apps from this source, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back and tap Install.
"There was a problem parsing the package"? The download was cut short. Download it again using Chrome, and open it from the Downloads list in Chrome rather than from another file manager.
3

Scan the QR code

Open Yeetbox on your phone, tap Scan the QR code, and point the camera at the QR code on your computer. That's it: you're connected.

Now tap Yeet photos or Yeet files, or use Share → Yeetbox from any app. Files land in the Yeetbox folder in your computer's Downloads.

Questions

What if my computer is off?

Send anyway. Your files wait safely (still locked) and arrive as soon as your computer is on and connected to the internet. Files that aren't picked up within 7 days are deleted.

Can I close the app while it's sending?

Yes. While files are sending, your phone shows a "Sending…" notification and keeps going in the background. When everything has been sent, the notification goes away by itself. On a Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone, also set Settings → Apps → Yeetbox → Battery saver → No restrictions, or the phone may stop it to save battery.

Does my computer app need to stay open?

Closing the Yeetbox window keeps it running quietly in the system tray (the small icons by the clock), so files can arrive any time. It also starts by itself when you turn on your computer. To close it completely, right-click the Yeetbox icon there and choose Quit Yeetbox.

Is it really private?

Yes. Each file is encrypted on your phone with a key that only your computer has. Our server only ever passes along locked data it can't read, and deletes it once your computer has it.

How big can files be?

Up to 2 GB per file. You can send as many files as you like.

Can I connect more than one phone?

Yes. Scan the same QR code from each phone. You can see and remove connected phones in the computer app.

Is there an iPhone or Mac version?

Not yet. Yeetbox works with Android phones and Windows computers for now.
